Things they never tell you,
Looking beautiful and feeling beautiful are two distinct things. Almost every woman I know is beautiful, if it’s not their smooth pretty faces, it’s their big brown eyes, their beautiful dashing smiles, their sweet soprano voices and their little cute noses that make them just look beautiful. All these amazing features are easily seen with our eyes. Do they feel beautiful? This we don’t know, but maybe in earnest, I think most don’t feel it.
Things that make us feel, are not visible. Or the feel of beauty, is not visible to the naked eye, but rather experienced inwardly or visibly seen by how we express ourselves. Feeling beautiful is in the joy we extrude from the hearty laughter we often give, the confidence of our posture and poise, the genuity of our praises, and the subtle reactions of people’s words towards you that may eventually make us feel beautiful or otherwise.
Occasionally, the harshness of words, backed by physical altercation would render the most beautiful ugly, making them weak, making their smiles fade and their beauty dwindling by the day through the constant cries, worries and frowns. This feeling of ugly would carry on despite the naivety of their big brown eyes, and the glow of their even matted skin tone. All these would amount to nothing if all a person eventually feels is resentment about themselves or other people. Then that stops feeling beautiful right?
They never tell you this enough though, that to feel beautiful is in itself the most beautiful thing in the world and that it’s joyous when it’s in fact effortless. No skin routine, no body care, you just looking homeless in that beautiful dera slacking your way into comfort, with the brow of your face and peak of your chin lighting up with joy because you just feel happily beautiful.
Essentially, the feel of beauty is only possibly if one is comfortable with themselves and who they are. What we feed our selves with, what we feed our minds and bodies with. How we choose to compartmentalise things. How we choose to react to things . How often we choose to nourish our minds with peace and positive thoughts. How often we choose to let go of things that disrupt our joy. How often we choose to be grateful of the things surrounding us. How often we remember to take care of that which brings us innermost peace. How often we choose to water that which keeps us smiling. All these much more that we can do within our control to make us feel this longing beauty.
Feeling beautiful is a journey towards your own joy more than an achievement to be recognised by anyone. It is the simplest things we choose to do every single day to keep our souls happy that will in the end make us beautiful and happy human beings. Things they never tell us but somewhat true💞
