I saw this book title somewhere. Never read it, maybe planning on getting if I come across it again. And I just thought. Ain’t this true? How often do we strategize? How many times? And did those strategies work?
A question for you and me. One thing about the articles I write, I look at them as notes to self. Even though I may somehow seem to be advising you readers about some things, majority of the time, say even ninety percent, are usually just notes to self.
Everytime we plan to do something, we also plan on how that plan will work out. And I think that is what a strategy entails. A strategy is basically the how. The how in which things should fall into place and how they fall into place is maybe the strategy behind the strategy.
When I came across that book title, I kept thinking about my own self. Sometimes I plan and plan and strategize, but those plans never seem to go beyond the plan. Planning is simply setting the outline of how things should fall into place. While that may be easy, planning would also call for things like setting the tone, the pace and even the direction at how some things should be. It involves setting the structure of how the specific visions and missions ought to be accomplished. Then for our plans to fall in place, we create a strategy for execution. After creating the strategy to execute our plans, what we may not realize is that we also need a strategy for that strategy. So where do we get stuck? If you have a plan and a strategy in place, why aren’t we moving? Why aren’t we executing? Why aren’t we accomplishing faster? And my answer was just simple. Maybe that strategy too needs a strategy..
This is just a food for thought, I don’t have it clearly defined, but my current thoughts are, for any strategy to work , there has to be a strategy behind it . Sometimes, I feel stuck at things. I know I need to move. I even make plans of how I should move, but each time I just don’t seem to lift the leg. My purpose right now is to, find ways of seeing some of my strategies working inorder for me to make attempts at moving. I will keep this article open, and hopefully come back to it later someday when I can clearly explain how it is I was able to get some of my strategies work. Hold me accountable. Equally you can share your thoughts on this, we all could learn if not benefit. Are your strategies working? Did you have strategies behind your strategies?…
