We have encountered this phrase not once or twice but severally, do we ever make head or tail of it, when someone actually tells you that you got to trust the process? do we really know what that means? Most of the times when I think I am not moving as fast as I ought to, I slow my thoughts and my actions down and draw myself to this statement that Sidi you got to trust the process…
There’s always a process behind every result but we never get to see it, or hear of it, what we see is just the end. At all times the process is what we need to concentrate and work on it, and trust it enough to give you the results you need. Rome was not built in a day they say, I am not sure sure of exactly how many years it took to create Rome into what it is today, but the process that it underwent to create the magnificent city it is today was truly worth it.
Every little thing you could be doing today from all angles of life, is a process that ultimately has an end. What you put in today, will never go unaccounted for even in fifty years to come. This is because you trusted the process so much so that even without you being actually present, the results will be enjoyed by your kins and those that you leave behind. That is just how much you ought to trust the process, the process of realism, the process to help you build your dynasty in a million years.
While you are at it, don’t create room for shortcuts because short cuts know no process. They will make you achieve your goals faster, but they won’t last as much they ought to. Take an example of building a house, if the foundation is not laid down firmly, with the correct paraphernalia, the building will go collapsing in a few years to come. That’s why builders pay so much attention to the foundation such that a huge chunk of the building material and time is devoted towards laying it right. From there they can now put up the rest of the structure comfortably knowing that they did it right from the beginning, and even in generations to come the building will still be standing tall.
Trusting the process also calls for dedication because every effort you put everyday will surmount to some achievement in years to come. It’s about being consistent, not giving up on your course, you can take a rest, but not giving up entirely, you could be putting lots of time into something where you don’t even get to see the output immediately, but it is only a matter of time and you will reap the fruits of your labor. Same thing as when a woman is expecting. You carry the child in your womb, undergo a lot of unpleasantries for nine months, sleepless nights, fatigue, emotional breakdowns, but eventually when you get to hold your bundle of joy in your arms you forget all that you endured. That is the process you trusted, in that, despite all those unpleasantries you will eventually meet your angel at the end of the term. So many examples one can give about trusting a process, but overally, things don’t just appear nicely they way they do, they are as a result of a process that one just has to go through and believe.
Trusting the process is acknowledging that good things don’t just come easily, you have to work hard for them. At times even harder. When you trust the process a big part of you dwells in the hope that what you are working towards will come to be. The process may take long to some and others even longer but bottom line is, whichever is yours, own it, believe in it. There is no miracle for success if that is what you are aiming at, there has to be some dedication, some constant engagement that will ultimately translate into the beautiful resultand that can only happen if you trust the process.
