I buy YOU first then your product..

I know for a fact that there is always a face behind every mission statement, every vision and goal statement of any organisation… Just like there’s a person behind every big company you see out there. There is always a face behind a company, and so is every product in the market, whether an online shop, or on the shelves, there is a face behind it too. The person behind the business is the person that first sells, then the product follows next. This person could be the owner of the business, or the person who gets the product out there to the rest of the world, and these could come in form of a salesman, an employee, a brand ambassador and so forth. Most of the times, owners of establishments are not known but the person that is known is the ultimate seller of that end product.

It’s always important to have the best of impressions of the people who put the products out there because these people are selling the product first before the actual product even sells. People buy into you who is the seller first then now buy your product. You could be having the best of products under the sun, but if people haven’t bought into you, they will not buy no matter how good, valuable or useful your product is.

Do you have shops or places that you visit to buy a good or get a service and then there is usually that one seller right from the time you walk in they cheer you up. That seller who makes you feel happy, appreciated, welcomed and eventually make you buy what they are selling whether you had planned to buy it or eventually give into buying unplanned. These people most of the time if you don’t find them in that shop, you could eventually walk away to either another shop, or fail to buy completely . And at times there is nothing particular about them, maybe it’s their charm, their enthusiastic charisma or their aura that draws you to them that makes you to just want to buy. Now that’s a perfect example of buying into someone before buying their product. People contribute towards how a business will grow, how a product will move or how a product will be accepted in the market and its important to have people who you can buy first. It could be their understanding of the product or the system, or maybe there is a way they explain something and it sticks, or they are generally welcoming and make you eventually sold to them. Or they could be just happy people loving what they do every day.

Whatever it is that you are selling find a way of letting people buy you first before buying your item and you will be surprised by the numerous referrals you could possibly get.

I am not a fun of ice-cream,, okay scratch that I am huge fun and there is this particular charming employee at coldstone who at times I could just be passing next to their booth just to check on what new flavors they had for the day, and some how I end up buying. There’s a way he goes on to describe the nitty gritty of the content, the flavors, many times I have been tempted to even ask for the recipe but that would be bad business strategy for him if he let that out, but honestly I can attest he does a good job. Buying into him has resulted into the many colds I have suffered as a result of the excessive ice-cream intake, but it is what it is. He definitely know how to sell, and never has he ever been tempted to give me free ice-cream neither have I been tempted to request for one, because he is just good at his job of selling and marketing. One time I went and found another one who served me equally well but not as good as my original ice cream guy,and that’s what buying into a person actually means. It makes your products sell even without putting too much effort..

Buying into a person is as key as choosing to buy the product itself. Find your own charm to draw people to your business over and above the product itself. Sometimes people buy, not because what you are offering is worthy, but rather because you are too charming or too pleasing that they’d just want to buy from you. When you have clients that buy you first they are most likely to stick for long.
