Businesses exist in many forms and one of them being a partnership, how easy is it for two people to come together and create this mind boggling business idea and expect it to last a life time. A good number of them have and a good number of then have equally not seen their second or third birthday and do you know why?
It’s definitely difficult for two people to have a common goal, and here goal is end game, we could have a similar start but a very different finish. Our mind sets are wired to think individually and selfishly at times especially if it’s a partnership where one partner is not pulling their equal share of weight.
We start partnerships because we could be trying to pool resources and by resources here I mean mostly money, time, one partner could have either of one, the one who has money and no time and the one who has time and no money, so they start a partnership with the goal that their advantages will complement each other, but here is the question what if the partner with time but no money gets through some cash, or the one with money now has time, chances of falling out would doomely stare at this partnership and make both parties estranged.
If I struggle reaching a consensus with my own self, how easy is it to reach one when two or three are involved. I have seen two partnerships fall out and I may not have the exact reason as to why they did, chances are that one realised they don’t need the other especially when one is not seen as pulling their weight as expected. A business idea is as good as you, because only you understand why you are doing it and you clearly have the end game well outlined in mind, only you can articulate your vision and mostly a vision is as good as individually thought of. I think this is where the fall out happens because as days go by each of the partners start visualizing their own goals and most of the time these goals are individualistic and hence why they fall out.
I don’t entirely discredit partnerships as a form of business ownership but my thoughts are biased into believing that it’s difficult for two people to have a common goal. Anyone in a form of partnership as a form of business ownership can counter my thoughts but this is my general opinion.
